Infographic: Internal social media boosts the bottom line
Employees are more likely to buy company stock, refer others for
employment, and recommend products and services if they can access
social media internally. And those are only a few of the benefits.
You know it's important for a company to interact with its customers on
social media, but should companies connect with employees through
internal social media, too?
A study from APCO Worldwide and Gagen McDonald shows they should, and an infographic with the study's results shows the many ways in which companies can benefit from doing so.
Employees who work at a company with internal social media are:
- Seventy-eight percent more likely to buy the company's stock.
- Sixty percent more likely to give their company the benefit of the doubt in a crisis.
- Thirty-nine percent more likely to recommend the company's products and services.
Not only that, but more than half (58 percent) of employees
prefer to work at a company that uses internal social media, and 86
percent would refer others for employment at that company.
About 50 percent of companies currently have internal social
media channels in place, including blogs, wikis and sites similar to
