For weight loss success, Mayo Clinic, Weight Watchers and others tout the benefits of having a support
network.
But an online support group?
Can it work?
A post on Mashable’s Facebook wall says it can. We saw this post earlier this week:
What is this guy's weight loss secret?
Diet, exercise and Reddit—http://on.mash.to/QbPWLO
The wall post links to a story about three Reddit users, who share a combined weight loss of more than 450 pounds, thanks to the Reddit online community,r/loseit. One user, who goes by the moniker moderndaymerlin on the social media network, went from 420 pounds in April 2008 to 160 pounds in
November 2011.
Does your health care organization host live or online weight loss support groups? How do you spread the message and share success stories such as this
one?
