Infographic: Fun facts about handwashing

Turn on the water and get your hands all soapy—it's National Handwashing Awareness Week! Hooray!

By Sarah Fudin | Posted: December 8, 2011

Sarah Fudin, research associate of Certifiationmap.com sent us the following email:

In recognition of National Handwashing Awareness Week, we created an infographic with facts pertaining to hand washing; how to do it correctly and common mistakes people make when washing their hands. Hand washing is the single most effective way to prevent the spread of contagious disease when done correctly.

It is important that we raise awareness about the importance of maintaining a healthy lifestyle. Not only does hand washing in communities prevent the spread of contagious symptoms, such as colds, but also more serious diseases, such as hepatitis A and meningitis.
