30 jobs in the PR and marketing world

Coffee drinkers all over the world will soon be celebrating their favorite drip, flat white, espresso or other favorite form of their morning jolt. Plus, check out our roundup of current job openings.

On Monday, coffee lovers worldwide will raise a cup o’ joe to those who help us wake up with the perfect roast.

The International Coffee Organization’s (ICO) celebrates its fourth-annual International Coffee Day on Oct. 1, with the goal of recognizing coffee growers around the globe and uniting the coffee-drinking world.

This year’s theme, “Women in Coffee,” hopes to help raise awareness about—and close—the gender gap in the industry.

From internationalcoffeeday.org:

… Women play as important a role in the whole of the coffee chain as men, from planting the seeds to processing to trading to brewing… and drinking it. Have you ever thought about how many women it took for you to be able to drink your daily cuppa?

The idea for the 2018 campaign goes beyond paying homage to women! We want to highlight the need for equity and equality in the coffee sector, from bean to cup, and that can only be achieved by empowering women to the benefit of the whole coffee sector.

The ICO shared a video with further explanation:

Among the many celebratory events, Viennese coffee company Julius Meinl is hoping to bring people together face to face in an ever-increasing digital world. On Oct. 1, its annual ” Meet with a Poem ” promotion offers a 2-for-1 deal on coffee for customers who pen a poem about how they met the person with whom they’ll be sharing their cup of joe.

Though International Coffee Day is celebrated worldwide only one day per year, many countries have their own “National Coffee Day.” The U.S., for example, will be getting a double shot of coffee-themed celebration, as our National Coffee Day takes place Sept. 29.

Caffeine-craving consumers can score deals and win prizes on our national day of java jubilation. Social media is packed with promotions from coffee retailers of all sizes:
