There’s encouraging news about healthcare-associated infections, or HAI.
A new report from the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention finds that threats to patient safety have decreased between 2008 and 2013. Specifically, select surgical site infections and MRSAs have dropped.
One area, however, that’s on the rise is catheter-associated urinary tract infections (CAUTI). The CDC says this signals a strong need for additional prevention efforts.
