Each year from 5 to 20 percent of the people in the US get the flu. This year is already much worse than last year.

Influenza is harder on patients under age five or older than 65 and on women who are pregnant.

People who live in close quarters, such as college students, are likely to spread the disease, yet only one student in 10 is likely to get vaccinated.
